When we by a new appliance, we look for the Energy StarTM label. When buying organic food, we look for the USDA Certified Organic label. These labels generate trust.
That is the same concept that governs ASTM and ISO’s guidelines for using labels in translation: to help the translation consumer know the nature of the content they are exposed to.
